In the world he was called Luka Evseevich Proskura.He was born the sixth child in 1868 in the village of Karilskoye, (near Korop of Chernihiv province) in a pious rural family. My father died early, my mother was often sick. At the age of 13 he graduated from the Zemstvo school. As a child, he fell during the game and hurt himself so that he began to limp. For physical damage, as if in retribution, the Lord awarded him with musical gifts.

Once, while in Korop, Luke met withregent of the imperial choir, who came to see his native places. He opened musical talents in the boy and began to teach him the regency of art and playing the violin. And to help the family with something significant, Luka learned how to sew and by the time he was 17 he had become a professional tailor.

However, Luke soon became regent and wanted to leavea novice in a monastery, but his elder brother asked not to leave them. Together with his friend Simeon, he visited Kiev with his father, Jonah, on Athos and in Palestine. Simeon was accepted into the brotherhood of Athos monastery, and Luka was sent back to Russia, because there he was more necessary.

But then he himself will go to eternal perdition, the fate of the betrayer of Judah awaits him.
